Board game

Eco is my personal thesis project that I presented to the TAG examination committee. It stems from the idea of mediating social education through board games. This card game was planned and designed in such a way as to help children with autism interact with their peers with the help of a highly structured environment. Underpinning the theories used to create the game are a number of scientific papers demonstrating that activities mediated through the board game foster the development of social, cognitive and verbal skills. These activities present an environment guided by precise rules and thus devoid of random and arbitrary elements that could cause discomfort in children with ASD.

The game is designed to have easily assimilated rules and components with simple and colourful geometric shapes. So it can be played by anyone regardless of age, language or cognitive ability. Eco is a highly reworked version of dominoes, in which players will have to cooperate in the creation of a common forest, trying to plant as many trees as possible while trying not to be surrounded by cities.
